Connect is a work-in-progress interdisciplinary performance by two emerging artists, Kaylie Magri and Angela Bettoni. The work sits between abstraction and realism, weaving together movement, music, and text to explore intimacy within platonic friendships. The show is bilingual, with sections in both English and Maltese.
At its core, the project asks: what is the role of intimacy within platonic relationships? Drawing from both personal writings and fictional material, the performers build a textual foundation that is then expanded through live composition and embodied storytelling.
The performance blends physical theatre, dance, music, and text, shaped in collaboration with Luke Bugeja Gauci, Noah Fabri, and directed by Douglas Comley. Together, the ensemble develops a space where gesture, sound, and language intersect to examine how platonic affection can be expressed, witnessed, and understood on stage.
